Hello!
Here in Australia we are on school holidays for 2 weeks! Yay! This means plenty of time for planning and blogging over here at the Cat's Pajamas :D Today I'd like to share with you how to make a 4 strand bracelet/anklet. Here we goooooo

Step 1-
Gather your materials! You will need;
  • Scissors
  • Sticky tape
  • 4 different coloured yarns or embroidery threads
  • Measuring tape (if you don't have one you can use a ruler)
You will also need a flat working space. A clipboard is an alternative to taping the threads to the table.

Step 2-
Lay your measuring tape (or ruler) out on your workspace. Take each coloured thread and measure 60-65cm and cut.

Step 3-
Bring all of your strings together at the top so that the ends are all at the same point. Tie a knot at the top of your strings so that they stay together.

Step 4-
Cut a piece of sticky tape and tape the loop and small tail of the loop to your flat area. Fan the threads of the long tail outwards, almost as though you're going to make a triangle.

Step 5-
Now you are going to start weaving. For the demonstration:
  • White thread will be A
  • Pink thread will be B
  • Yellow thread will be C
  • Blue thread will be D
Take thread A and put it over the top of thread B, take the rest of A and pull it through the loop. It will go right up to the top and become your first weave. Do this again. Now still using thread A, do the same for threads C and D. Remember for every weave you must do it twice!

Step 6-
Once you have done the weave for A, B, C and D, thread A will be over on the far right. Now, continue this for each colour and you will notice a pattern starting to form.

Step 7-
Continue this weaving pattern all the way down to the bottom of your threads, only go until you have around 7-10cm of thread left of each at the bottom.

Step 8-
Separate the threads so that there are two on each side. Tie a knot at the bottom to secure the weave.

Step 9-

Tie the weave on to your ankle or wrist. You could even use this as a cool keychain!

I hope you liked my DIY!! It sounds kind of complicated but if you practice you will get it in no time. :) I'd love to see your weaves, you can email me pictures at
